South Korea did not import crude oil from Iran in May.
The Korean Customs Service announced preliminary data on Monday showing that South Korea did not import any crude oil from Iran in May. South Korea is the fifth largest crude oil importing country in the world, with data showing a total of 9.7 million tons of crude oil imported in May, compared to 12.6 million tons in the same period last year. The state-owned Korean National Oil Corporation will release the final data on last month's crude oil imports in late this month. KNOC's data is considered the industry standard for South Korea's crude oil imports.
