Trump said he plans to appoint James MacDonald as the federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York. The federal prosecutor's office is responsible for handling several major cases related to Wall Street. MacDonald will replace Jay Clayton. About two weeks ago, Trump nominated Clayton for the position of Director of National Intelligence, after his temporary appointment, housing official Bill Pulte, was strongly opposed by Congress. After current Director of National Intelligence Tursi Gabbard announced her resignation, Trump had previously nominated Pulte to take over.
