Tesla made an appearance at the Chongqing Auto Show, showcasing a robot made of "plastic"?
Recently, the 2026 Chongqing Auto Show officially opened. At the auto show, Tesla showcased models such as the Model 3 and Model Y, as well as the Tesla Optimus humanoid robot. According to observations by Sina Technology, the Tesla Optimus humanoid robot does not have a clear metallic sheen overall, and it feels like a kind of "hard plastic" when touched. Additionally, there is no visible charging interface at the back. Some spectators around may mistake it for a real object and take photos of it. Regarding this, the staff at the booth stated that the physical model did not actually come to the event, saying "This Optimus humanoid robot is fake." Public information shows that this robot shares the full set of core technologies with Tesla's smart electric cars, leveraging the same source hardware, training clusters, and end-to-end neural networks to implement artificial intelligence technology across various scenarios.
