The US Department of Treasury sanctions Chinese individuals and entities for assisting Iran in purchasing military goods, Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds.

On June 12, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. A foreign journalist asked about the recent announcement by the US Treasury Department to sanction 9 individuals and entities in China and Hong Kong for assisting Iran in purchasing military goods. In response, Lin Jian stated: "We have repeatedly stated that China firmly opposes illegal unilateral sanctions that are not based on international law and not authorized by the UN Security Council. We will take all necessary measures to firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of our country's enterprises and citizens."
