On June 12, according to media reports, DJI and DJI Lingmou filed a patent infringement lawsuit against EIS Innovation and its affiliated companies in the Eastern District of Texas Federal District Court on June 10 and 11 local time. The complaint shows that DJI accuses EIS Innovation's Luna series handheld gimbal cameras of infringing on 2 design patents and 4 invention patents held by DJI. The patents involved in this lawsuit relate to the technology and design of DJI's Osmo Pocket series products, covering core underlying technologies such as gimbal motor control and shooting control. According to the information disclosed so far, the rotating screen appearance, gimbal mode switching, and target tracking features of the Luna series camera are suspected to fall within the scope of DJI's patents granted in the early years in the United States. DJI has requested the court to issue a permanent injunction in the lawsuit, while also demanding that EIS Innovation return infringing profits, pay damages, and bear related litigation costs and attorney fees. On June 12, EIS Innovation also filed a patent counterclaim against DJI in the United States, involving 5 invention patents related to gimbal cameras, panoramic cameras, etc., covering key technologies such as gimbal stabilization algorithms, gimbal direction control, camera smooth stabilization, motion data overlay, and panoramic video stabilization. At the same time, EIS Innovation has filed a request for invalidation of related family patents with the China National Intellectual Property Administration. This is also the first patent lawsuit confrontation between the two companies in overseas markets after DJI filed a patent infringement lawsuit against EIS Innovation in China for unmanned aerial vehicle patents in March 2026.
