Japanese Finance Minister Kozue Katakawa stated that when asked about Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda being hospitalized, he anticipated that this matter would not impact the monetary policy meeting. On June 10th, local time, the Bank of Japan issued a statement saying that 74-year-old Kuroda is expected to be hospitalized for about two weeks for treatment of a liver cyst infection, causing him to miss the monetary policy meeting scheduled for June 15th and 16th.
