Shanghai Electric and ACWA deepen new space for green low-carbon development.

On the morning of June 11, Zhu Zhaokai, deputy secretary of the Party committee and president of Shanghai Electric Group, held talks with Dr. Samir Serhan, CEO of Saudi International Power and Water Company. The two sides had in-depth discussions on global energy transition trends, synergy in emerging market strategies, development of green hydrogen industry, and cooperation on seawater desalination technology. Zhu Zhaokai expressed his expectation for further deepening of technological innovation cooperation, focusing on collaborative research and development in frontier areas such as long-term energy storage, green hydrogen production, and smart energy management. Building on the existing good cooperation, the two sides will expand cooperation in emerging fields such as new energy and comprehensive utilization of water resources on a larger scale, leverage their respective resource advantages, jointly explore third-party international markets, and jointly create high-standard, high-quality international energy cooperation projects to achieve complementarity of strengths, sharing of benefits, and common development.
