Apollo Asset Management executive: Too much artificial intelligence expenditure is wasted on low IQ tasks.
John Zito of Apollo Global Management said that too many companies are using AI tools for relatively mundane tasks, which doesn't justify the high costs and computing power invested. "Our intelligence is so low that we have to use AI tools to search for recipes for French toast," said Zito, co-president of Apollo Asset Management. "That's why prices are rising." He said that only a "few" people have the ability and necessity to use cutting-edge AI tools. When talking about Anthropic PBC's latest Claude AI model, he jokingly said that his intelligence is not "high enough to use the powerful features of Mythos 2."
