Philippines lifts tsunami warning

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology lifted the tsunami warning issued earlier for the southern provinces this afternoon, stating that the risk brought by the earthquake this morning has been reduced. In their announcement, the institute mentioned that after two hours of extended observation, only minor sea surface movements were recorded, and the observed tsunami wave heights were too low to cause damage.
