On October 24, 2025 at 19:49, in the village of Youai, Taiping Town, Binhai New Area, Tianjin Ruifuxin Chemical Co., Ltd., a bolt on the rupture valve of the fluid loading and unloading arm was pulled due to overload, causing leakage and diffusion of liquid chlorine in the tanker truck connected to it, resulting in 3 deaths and 23 minor injuries. The direct economic loss was 4.35 million RMB. After the accident, the main responsible persons of Ruifuxin company, including Li Changxu, his father Li Lianbo, the plant manager Liu Chengyu, the chlorine supply workshop director Liu Qingguo, the equipment department head Liu Jinzhu, the purchasing officer Zhang Di, and the maintenance worker Wang Deping, colluded and conspired, using forged safety production management documents and instructing others to give false testimony to resist the accident investigation, misleading the investigation at one point and seriously interfering with the progress of the investigation. Currently, 15 individuals from Ruifuxin company, Pinghe Transport company, and Hongda Century company have been approved for arrest by the procuratorate, 2 individuals have been criminally detained by the public security organs, and 3 individuals are on bail pending trial by the public security organs.
