Australia and New Zealand Banking Group: Indonesian bond yields are soaring, foreign investors are selling off.

Khoon Goh, head of Asia research at ANZ Bank, said that Indonesian bond yields have risen sharply, reflecting outflows of foreign funds; investors are demanding higher yields before re-entering the market. He noted that strong US employment data last Friday further increased pressure on Indonesian policymakers. If US consumer price index data rises on Wednesday night, the Indonesian rupiah will face greater depreciation pressure. In this situation, even if the Indonesian central bank continues to raise interest rates, it will be difficult to reverse the situation.
