Xi Jinping arrives in Pyongyang to begin a state visit to North Korea.

On the afternoon of June 8, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang by special plane to begin his state visit to North Korea. Around 12 o'clock local time, Xi Jinping's plane landed at the airport. Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, along with his wife Ri Sol Ju, were at the airport to welcome him. Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan stepped out of the plane and shook hands warmly with Kim Jong Un. North Korean children presented flowers to Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan. Accompanying personnel, including Cai Qi and Wang Yi, also arrived on the same plane. Chinese Ambassador to North Korea, Wang Yajun, was also at the airport to welcome Xi Jinping.
