The Shanghai Composite Index narrowed its decline to within 1%, after falling more than 2% earlier in the session. The Shenzhen Component Index and the ChiNext Index also narrowed their declines to within 2%. Leading sectors in terms of gains include oil and gas extraction, commercial aerospace, aquaculture, retail, and film and television exhibition.
