Boehringer Ingelheim is currently promoting a new weight-loss drug under development that can help patients reduce fat while preserving muscle, potentially creating a competitive advantage in the saturated weight-loss drug market. The company announced on Sunday that analysis of data from a large clinical trial showed that suvodupeptide can reduce visceral fat by up to 34%. When using the highest dose of the drug, the proportion of lean body mass, such as muscles, in the overall tissue mass did not exceed 10.8%, while liver fat decreased by over 60%.
