A vice president of the International Air Transport Association said on Saturday that delaying aircraft orders due to the uncertainty caused by the Iran war and the rise in aviation fuel prices is not a wise move for Middle Eastern airlines, as this decision may be costly in the long run. The regional vice president in charge of Africa and the Middle East, Kamil Alavi, stated that he does not believe that the war and cost increases will affect aircraft orders for Middle Eastern airlines. The airlines in this region are major customers of Boeing and Airbus. He pointed out that, considering the long delivery cycles of aircraft, delaying orders "is not a wise move, as it will bring additional costs."
