The US military website "Theater" reported that the US Air Force is urgently seeking to replenish its stock of MQ-9 drones, as nearly 30 of these drones were lost in operations against Iran and also suffered losses in missions against Houthi militants. Due to the discontinuation of the MQ-9A model, the US Air Force plans to purchase unused stock aircraft from General Atomics, but the number available for purchase is less than 10. The size of the US military's MQ-9 fleet has decreased from 165 drones at the beginning of the 2026 fiscal year to approximately 135 drones currently.
