China Railway Construction has won the bid for the largest high-speed rail station in Shenzhen, with a contract value exceeding 6.4 billion yuan.
Recently, China Railway Construction Corporation's subsidiaries China Railway Construction and China Railway Urban Construction won the bid to construct the new Shenzhen Xili Station and related projects, with a contract value exceeding 6.4 billion yuan. The construction scope mainly includes the main station building, steel structure and metal roof above the elevated level of the east square, roof, and transportation hub ribbon park. This project is a national-level pilot project for the integration of "station-production-city" development, as well as the core project of the Shenzhen "Five Main Lines and Five Branch Lines" railway passenger transportation hub. Once completed, it will establish a multi-layered rail transit network layout of "4 high-speed rails, 2 inter-city rails, and 4 metro lines", with an annual capacity planning of 78 million passengers. It will become the largest high-speed rail hub and comprehensive rail transit interchange center in Shenzhen. After the full operation of the line, travel between Shenzhen and cities in the Greater Bay Area such as Zhongshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Shenshan will be reduced to 20 minutes to 1 hour, playing an important supporting role in accelerating Shenzhen's development as a national railway hub city and enhancing its core engine function in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
