US Secretary of Energy Wright revealed on Friday that the Trump administration is conducting substantive discussions on the establishment of a California oil reserve project. The project, once implemented, will not only improve California's oil infrastructure, but also hinder Governor Gavin Newsom of the California Democratic Party's plans to reduce the scale of domestic fossil fuel use. Media reports obtained a document dated June 2nd, which was submitted to the US Department of Energy by the legal team of the Sabul Nearshore Oil Company, which owns three offshore oil drilling platforms near California. The document shows that the company proposed to build a strategic oil reserve base on the West Coast, in response to inquiries from the Trump administration and in cooperation with ongoing discussions between the company and the Department of Defense to ensure the supply of oil and gas in California. Wright confirmed in an interview that the reserve facility project is currently in the discussion phase, but did not disclose specific details.
