According to Irish media reports on the 5th, Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin confirmed on that day that the Irish Minister of Justice, Jim O'Callaghan, has imposed a travel ban on Israeli Minister of Public Security Amir Ohana and Finance Minister Israel Katz. Martin, attending the EU-Western Balkans summit in Montenegro, stated that the actions and statements of these two Israeli ministers reflect an intention to "remove Palestinians from Palestine," and the EU should impose additional sanctions on them. A spokesperson for O'Callaghan stated in a statement that the government had reached a consensus earlier this week on the ban, which does not require cabinet approval, and immigration officials will refuse entry to the two Israeli ministers according to instructions. The statement also said that the two play an important role in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Martin and the Irish Foreign Minister had condemned Ben-Gvir in May for posting a video allegedly insulting humanitarian activists.
