A representative of Bayer AG said on Tuesday that despite facing a cascade of lawsuits over its herbicide "Roundup", there are currently no plans to divest from Monsanto. The company representative stated in an interview with the media that while restructuring may be a viable option, there are currently no plans for it and the company's current focus is on improving performance and dealing with the wave of lawsuits it is facing. Bayer CEO Anderson reiterated the threat that the Roundup lawsuits pose to the German pharmaceutical and crop science giant. The company claims that there are approximately 100,000 plaintiffs involved. "If the Roundup litigation issue is not resolved, the US will no longer produce Roundup," Anderson stated.
