US oil and gas giant ConocoPhillips posted on LinkedIn that it has signed a long-term supply agreement with a liquefied natural gas seller in Indonesia's northern hub, further expanding the company's global LNG supply map. The supply will come from deepwater natural gas resources being developed in the Kutei Basin, which is close to Indonesia's existing Bontang liquefaction plant. A spokesperson for ConocoPhillips stated in an email that the agreement will start in 2029; the company declined to disclose specific supply amounts and agreement terms.
