BYD: Plans to build 20,000 fast-charging stations by the end of this year.

According to the release from Shenzhen, on June 2, the 2026 Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone Industrial Investment Promotion Conference with the theme "Car Running the World, Materials for the Future" was held. Luo Zhongliang, Vice President of BYD Co., Ltd., said at the meeting that BYD's decision to invest in Shenzhen and Shanwei five years ago was "extremely correct". Currently, Phase I of BYD Shenshan Industrial Park has been fully put into production, with the capacity of Phase II steadily increasing, and Phase III and IV were put into operation last year. The second generation blade battery released in March this year is also produced in Shenshan. Luo Zhongliang introduced that BYD has launched the "Fast Charging China" strategy, planning to build 20,000 fast charging stations by the end of this year. By the end of May, more than 6,150 stations have been built nationwide, including 149 in Shenzhen. The previously released second generation blade battery and fast charging technology achieve "fully charged in 5 minutes, 80% charged in 9 minutes; only takes an extra 3 minutes at -30C".
