OpenAI is being sued by the state government for security reasons.
On June 1st local time, James Usmair, the Attorney General of Florida, filed a lawsuit against the OpenAI research center and its CEO Sam Oldman, accusing the company's chatbot of "encouraging violent behavior, inducing user dependency, and spreading misinformation". This is the first time a state government in the United States has sued OpenAI over the safety of artificial intelligence products. The lawsuit is a civil suit seeking penalties and court orders, rather than criminal charges.
