Golden Waterway Efficiency Enhancement Project Officially Launched for the Yangtze River ChaoTianMen to FuLing River Section Channel Rehabilitation

Reporters learned from the Yangtze River Chongqing Navigation Engineering Bureau that on May 29, the navigation improvement project from Chaotianmen to Fuling River section in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River officially started operation. With this, the 4.5-meter deep navigation channel in the Three Gorges Reservoir area has been extended to the central urban area of Chongqing, allowing 5,000-ton cargo ships to directly reach Chongqing city area from the Three Gorges Reservoir area all year round, further enhancing the efficiency of the Yangtze River golden waterway. The Chaofu section project spans a total length of 123 kilometers, connecting the central urban area of Chongqing to the Fuling port area, linking the Guoyuan port, Longtou port, and Cuntan cruise port. It serves as the golden passage for eastward logistics transportation in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
