U.S. President Trump said on Wednesday local time that the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all and will not be controlled by any country regardless of any agreement with Iran. Trump stated, "We will be monitoring it but nobody will be controlling it directly. It's part of our negotiation process." He did not specify what measures the U.S. will take to ensure the safe passage of vessels through the strait. Trump's remarks have raised doubts about whether an immediate breakthrough can be achieved between the U.S. and Iran. Both sides have recently indicated progress, leading to optimism in the market for reaching an agreement. However, the situation in the strait remains a key point of contention in the negotiations. Trump stated that the U.S. is "not satisfied" with the negotiation results aimed at ending the war that has lasted nearly three months and hinted at the possibility of reevaluating and completing the war, but he did not further elaborate on whether this meant taking further military action. Trump also downplayed the possibility of Iran lifting sanctions. "We are definitely not talking about relaxing sanctions or releasing funds, that is completely out of the question," he said.
