Ministry of Commerce: Minister Wang Wentao holds talks with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Laische.
On May 27th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held talks with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on China-Germany, China-EU economic and trade relations, and other issues. Wang Wentao stated that in February of this year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel successfully visited China and leaders of China and Germany reached important consensus on strengthening strategic communication and adhering to open cooperation. China's development direction of smart, green, and integrated during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period is highly compatible with Germany's Industry 4.0 and low-carbon transformation goals. It is hoped that companies from both sides will seize the opportunity, consolidate cooperation in traditional industries, vigorously expand cooperation in emerging and future industries, and create a new paradigm of cooperation between China and Germany that integrates interests and achieves mutual benefits.
