The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic operation of the communications industry for the first four months of 2026 on May 25. The mobile internet traffic has grown rapidly, and the average monthly data usage (DOU) in April was at a high level. In the first four months, the total mobile internet traffic reached 1420 billion GB, an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period last year. By the end of April, the number of mobile internet users reached 1.624 billion households, with a net increase of 14.16 million households from the end of last year. In April, the average monthly mobile internet access per household reached 23.17GB, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period last year, and 0.13GB higher than the end of last year.
