British energy consulting firm Cornwall Insight released a report on July to September 2026 predicting that rising energy prices as a result of the Middle East conflict could lead to a 13% increase in annual household energy expenditures in the UK. According to the report, a UK household using both gas and electricity could expect their energy bill to reach a maximum of 1,850 for the year, compared to a previous forecast of 1,641. The report cited that the main reason for the increase in energy prices was the significant global rise in energy prices following the Middle East conflict. Despite a temporary ceasefire partially calming market volatility, prices are still at high levels.
