Barclays: Advances in battery technology will lay the foundation for the next generation of humanoid robots.
Barclays analysts stated in a research report that advances in battery technology will lay the foundation for the next generation of humanoid robots. They pointed out that over the past decade, the price of lithium-ion batteries has significantly decreased, while battery capacity has increased. They added that, however, the energy consumption of batteries is still "largely inefficient," limiting the current operating time of humanoid robots to about 4 to 5 hours, with high-intensity movements draining the battery even faster. They suggested that interchangeable battery packs and fast charging technology may help improve this situation.
