On May 14th, at the construction site of the demonstration application of wrapped optical fiber cable on the 10kV Dongyun line in Jiashan, Zhejiang, a distribution network wrapped optical fiber cable robot moved along the guide wire and autonomously completed a 350-meter distribution network optical fiber cable transformation task. According to State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, this laying is a new exploration of the robot's full-process autonomous operation mode. "Wrapped optical fiber cable is a special power optical cable directly wrapped on overhead lines." Ge Qi, deputy director of the dispatching center of State Grid Jiashan County Power Supply Company, explained that compared with conventional laying methods, this method has certain characteristics in terms of construction period, material use, and prevention of external fault damage. It is understood that the contradiction between trees and power lines along the 10kV Dongyun line is particularly prominent. The original line also had fault indicators, bird repellents, and other equipment installed. "If traditional manual operation is used, at least 22 people would be needed to cooperate for this laying, and they would need to go up and down the poles multiple times, putting great pressure on construction organization and on-site safety control," said Ge Qi.
