The price broke through 20,000 yuan per ton, and the momentum of lithium carbonate continued to rise.
On May 11th, the lithium carbonate futures price continued to rise, with the main contract 2609 increasing by 3.51% to close at 205020 yuan/ton, hitting a new high in two years. Starting from 120,000 yuan/ton at the beginning of the year, the lithium carbonate futures price has risen by more than 40% in five months. The spot and futures prices of lithium carbonate are closely linked. According to data from MySteel, on May 11th, the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate was 195400 yuan/ton, an increase of 2150 yuan from the 8th. "This strong rebound in lithium prices is mainly due to the resonance of expected supply tightening and explosive growth in demand." Analysts familiar with the lithium mining industry believe that as lithium prices strengthen, there is also frequent action on the industrial side. At present, downstream companies still have a certain level of tolerance for the rising lithium prices, so there is still some room for further increases in the short term.
