The Duku Expressway will reduce the 14-hour car journey to 4 hours, and the entire expressway can be used all year round.
On the morning of May 9th, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region government held a special press conference on the "Start of the 14th Five-Year Plan" in Xinjiang at the news office. At the press conference, Vice Secretary of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Chairman of the Autonomous Region, Erkin Tuniyaz, introduced the situation: "The Duku Highway is only open for 5 months a year. We are now planning to build the Duku Expressway, which will be completed before 2032. The 14-hour journey can be shortened to about 4 hours, achieving year-round access to the road, completely breaking through the blockade of the Tianshan Mountains. While making it convenient for tourists to experience the beauty of Xinjiang, it also becomes a road to happiness and prosperity for people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang."
