From wind turbine units to transformers, Jiangsu's high-end equipment exports have been steadily increasing.
In the first quarter of this year, Jiangsu Province's foreign trade delivered an impressive report card, with a total import and export value of 1.59 trillion yuan, an increase of 17.2% compared to the same period last year, exceeding the national average by 2.2 percentage points. Against the backdrop of the turbulent global trade environment, how did Jiangsu's foreign trade achieve such "better-than-expected" growth? Where did the confidence come from? How to sustainably increase the "gold content" of this growth? At the Longtan Container Terminal in Nanjing Port, containers carrying high-end electromechanical products manufactured in Jiangsu are being precisely lifted onto the ship by a huge gantry crane. They will depart from here and be exported overseas. These high value-added electromechanical products have become the most impressive export products from Jiangsu so far this year. In the first quarter of this year, Jiangsu's electromechanical products accounted for over 70% of its exports, directly driving a 15.3% increase in the province's total exports.
