Ukraine attacks Russian large oil refinery and oil pipeline facilities.
Ukraine has stated that it has attacked two major fuel production facilities in Russia as well as an oil pumping station, further increasing pressure on Russia's refining system. The operating rate of Russian refineries dropped to a multi-year low in April. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that drones attacked a refinery in Yaroslavl located about 282 kilometers northeast of Moscow. The Ukrainian Security Service said that the Permnefteorgsintez refinery in Perm and a nearby oil pumping station were also attacked again. These facilities are both located about 1500 kilometers east of Moscow, and were also targeted earlier this week. The above-mentioned refineries are among Russia's top ten fuel production facilities. The Yaroslavl refinery has a daily processing capacity of about 300,000 barrels and is jointly owned by the Russian oil company and the Russian gas oil company. The Perm refinery under LUKoil has a production capacity of about 260,000 barrels per day. The Perm oil station is part of Russia's main pipeline network and is responsible for transporting Siberian crude oil to central Russia and LUKoil refineries.
