Reporters interviewed multiple industry insiders to look ahead at the trends of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) in April. The experts interviewed generally believe that the seasonal effects in April will continue, and it is expected that the CPI will continue to rise year-on-year; influenced by the transmission of international resource prices, the PPI is also expected to continue to rise year-on-year. Feng Lin, Director of Research and Development at Oriental Jin Cheng, stated in an interview with reporters that he expects the year-on-year CPI to increase slightly to around 1.1% in April; Huatai Securities predicts that the year-on-year CPI increase in April will be 0.7%; Zhongjin Macroeconomics believes that the year-on-year CPI in April will be around 1.0%. In terms of PPI, Wen Bin, Chief Economist of Minsheng Bank, stated that he expects the PPI to continue to rise month-on-month in April, accelerating from 0.5% in March to around 2.0% year-on-year.
