According to CNBC, Apple (AAPL.O) company's research and development expenses in the March quarter accounted for 10.3% of revenue, higher than the previous quarter's 7.6% and the same period last year's 9%. Despite a 17% increase in sales, the growth rate of research and development expenses is double that of last year, increasing by nearly 34%. Gene Munster, managing partner of Loup Ventures, said Apple's move brings it closer to the ranks of large tech companies and pointed out that Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon's research and development expenses this quarter increased by an average of 29% year on year. Munster said, "In terms of artificial intelligence research and development, Apple is catching up with other large tech companies. This phenomenon indicates that Apple has a sense of urgency in launching new artificial intelligence products."
