Wu Yize wins the Snooker World Championship.

On the evening of May 4th local time, in the early morning of today Beijing time, the 2026 World Snooker Championship final was held in Sheffield, England. Chinese player Wu Yize defeated British star Shaun Murphy and successfully won the championship. This 22-year-old Chinese rookie thus became the second youngest champion in the history of the World Snooker Championship, second only to Hendry who won the championship at the age of 21. This is the second consecutive year that a Chinese player has won the World Snooker Championship, and it is also the first time in the history of the event that a Chinese player has achieved back-to-back victories.
