Maersk stated that its subsidiary Farrell Lines operates the car carrier "Alliance Fairfax," which sails with the American flag, left the Gulf region on Monday through the Strait of Hormuz under escort by the US military. Maersk said that the passage of the "Alliance Fairfax" was smooth and all crew members are safe. The US Central Command said on Monday that the US military is actively assisting in restoring commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The Central Command stated, "As a first step, two commercial ships flying the American flag have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz."
