A ship operated by a South Korean company exploded and caught fire in the inner side of the Hormuz Strait.
On the 4th, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to Xinhua News Agency that a ship operated by a South Korean company in the waters near the inside of the Strait of Hormuz, near the United Arab Emirates, had exploded and caught fire, with no casualties reported so far. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, there were a total of 6 South Korean crew members and 18 foreign crew members on board, and the cause of the explosion and fire, as well as the extent of the damage, are still being further confirmed. The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the South Korean government will maintain close communication with relevant countries on this matter and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of South Korean ships and crew members in the inside waters of the Strait of Hormuz.
