Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Water Resources Department and Autonomous Region Meteorological Bureau jointly issued the first yellow alert for mountain flood meteorological risk in 2026 at 18:00 on May 4, 2026: It is expected that from 20:00 on May 4 to 20:00 on May 5, there is a high possibility of mountain flood disasters in Gongliu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Prefecture, Henan County, Nierke County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, and Hejing County. Gongliu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Prefecture, Teke county, Nierke County may experience mountain flood disasters, which are simultaneously included in the blue alert range. Due to the sudden heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, Qiakesi Scenic Area and Kuerdening Scenic Area successively issued temporary closure notices today.
