Floods and landslides have occurred in many parts of Kenya, resulting in the deaths of 18 people.
The Kenyan National Police Service announced on May 3 that due to recent heavy rainfall, flooding and landslides have occurred in Tana River County, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, and Kiambu County, resulting in 18 deaths. The Kenyan police released a statement on May 1 stating that the country is experiencing some of the most severe weather disasters in recent years. Flooding is still impacting communities, with some bridges destroyed and ongoing landslides in areas with continuous rainfall, posing ongoing risks.
