European electric car sales soared, fuel prices surged, and Europeans went crazy buying electric cars.
In Europe, due to the significant increase in fuel costs, more and more consumers are turning to electric cars. In Frankfurt, Germany, local car dealerships report that sales of electric cars are experiencing overall growth. Reitzbach, a car sales manager in Frankfurt, stated that due to rising fuel prices and expectations of further price increases, consumer interest in electric cars has significantly increased, with small electric cars being particularly favored. The latest data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association also confirms the hot market for electric cars. In March, sales of electric cars in Europe saw a substantial increase, offsetting the decline in sales of traditional fuel cars and driving overall new car sales up. The data shows that new car registrations in the EU, UK, and EFTA markets increased by 11% year-on-year to 1.58 million units, marking the biggest year-on-year increase in 23 months. Among them, pure electric cars performed well, with registrations in January and February both increasing by around 15%, and jumping by about 42% in March. Looking at different regions, Germany, France, and Italy stood out the most, with registrations of pure electric cars increasing by approximately 66%, 69%, and 72% respectively.
