On April 28, 2026, the China Payment and Clearing Association held the fifth member representative meeting and the first meeting of the fifth council and supervisory council. Lu Lei pointed out that in recent years, the association has conscientiously implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adhered to the positioning of self-discipline, rights protection, coordination, and service, and played an important role in areas such as payment interconnection, facilitation of payment for overseas visitors to China, payment risk governance, and protection of payment consumer rights. Currently, there is a profound change in the global economic and financial governance system, and artificial intelligence technology is developing rapidly. The role of payment in economic and social development is becoming increasingly important. It is hoped that the association, under the leadership of the new council, will further improve its political positioning, comprehensively strengthen party building, improve self-discipline management mechanisms, enhance the quality of member services, strengthen the operation and management of the cross-border QR code unified gateway, regulate member competitive behavior, maintain industry development order, and make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of China's payment and clearing industry.
