South Korea will begin trial operation of 24-hour foreign exchange trading from the end of June.

The South Korean Ministry of Finance stated that South Korea will begin trial 24-hour foreign exchange trading at the end of June. The country had previously planned to launch 24-hour foreign exchange trading in July. Following global foreign exchange market practices, it will provide 24-hour foreign exchange trading from Monday morning at 6:00 to Saturday morning at 6:00. In US Eastern Time, this will be from Monday morning at 7:00 to Saturday morning at 7:00. The South Korean central bank will start IT system testing for the offshore Korean won settlement system in June, and this system is scheduled to be operational by 2027.
