On the 28th, it was learned from the Ministry of Education that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, a total of 10,200 new undergraduate majors were added at national universities, while 12,200 majors were either revoked or stopped enrolling students. The adjustment of majors has been increasing, with the total adjustment ratio exceeding 30%, and this year the ratio of major adjustment in national universities has exceeded 10% for the first time. The "Catalog of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities" was officially released recently. In order to better adapt to the development of emerging interdisciplinary disciplines and the demand for training compound talents, the 2026 undergraduate major directory includes 11 new majors in the "interdisciplinary" category, such as future robotics and interdisciplinary engineering, as well as 4 new majors in the categories of artificial intelligence, brain-machine science and technology, which are included in the directory for the first time.
