Five departments launch a joint law enforcement special action to regulate the recycling and utilization of waste power batteries.
Five departments carried out a joint law enforcement special action to standardize the recycling and utilization of waste power batteries. The special action began in April 2026 and ended at the end of June. By the end of April, local governments should, in accordance with the requirements of this notice, base themselves on the actual situation of waste power battery recycling and utilization in the local area, and, based on the special survey of power battery recycling and utilization in 2025, widely collect clues to illegal dismantling and illegal sales of waste power batteries, laying a solid foundation for centralized rectification. By the end of May, based on the determined goals, tasks, and progress, joint law enforcement should be carried out to severely punish a group of illegal enterprises or individuals, while also strengthening business guidance for enterprises and urging them to fulfill their main responsibilities. By the end of June, a group of typical cases of illegal activities should be exposed, fully exerting a deterrent effect, comprehensively reviewing the effectiveness of the special action, thoroughly analyzing existing problems, and putting forward scientific and reasonable countermeasures. The industrial and information technology departments of various regions, together with relevant departments, will summarize the materials and submit them to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
