Charu Chanana of Shengbao Financial stated in a commentary that the Bank of Japan's decision to maintain interest rates unchanged may be seen as a "warning signal" to the market. The chief investment strategist said, "The Middle East impact is no longer just a geopolitical risk for the market; it is becoming a central bank risk." Chanana added, "If inflation pressures continue to build before softening economy becomes undeniable, policymakers may tighten or maintain restrictive policies for longer than the market expects." Chanana also noted that this has kept upward pressure on short-term bond yields, complicating the outlook for the stock market and making the next round of global central bank meetings more important than ever before.
