3 years 60GWh! The world's largest sodium energy storage order lands in Fujian. Sodium-ion batteries enter a new stage of large-scale production and commercial application.
On April 27th, a cooperation that will reshape the global energy storage industry landscape began in Ningde, Fujian - Ningde Times and Hipothec Innovations officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement, locking in a total of 60GWh of sodium-ion battery supply orders over the next 3 years. This is the largest sodium-ion battery order in the world so far, signaling the transition of sodium-ion batteries from technical breakthroughs to large-scale production and commercial applications. This signing means that Ningde Times has overcome the difficulties in the entire chain of sodium-ion battery production and has the capability for large-scale delivery. According to Li Yue, Vice President of the Zero Carbon Energy Business Unit in China at Ningde Times, through core technologies such as Grammy-level pore size regulation, surface molecule water locking, and adaptive dynamic assembly, the company has systematically solved the process problems of foaming and moisture control in the production process of sodium ion batteries, enabling mass production with consistency. At the same time, relying on morphology control and surface modification technology, the energy density of sodium batteries has been greatly improved. This is not just a cooperation between two companies, but also a clear signal of the transition of sodium battery industrialization from "0 to 1". Vice President Zhao Qing of Hipothec Innovations stated that as Ningde Times' first strategic partner in sodium energy storage, the two sides will deepen their cooperation in technology research and development, product applications, and project implementation.
