Today, the State Grid Zhejiang 1000kV Ultra-High Voltage AC Ring Network Project started construction. Once completed, it will integrate more than 57 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually, providing green energy for the transformation of the Yangtze River Delta. The Zhejiang Ultra-High Voltage AC Ring Network Project, starting in Jiaxing and ending in Lishui, connects Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Ningbo, Taizhou, Wenzhou and 7 other cities, with a total length of 508 kilometers and a total investment of 29.3 billion yuan, making it the largest and highest investment special ultra-high voltage AC transmission project in China. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Zhejiang coastal area is expected to add over 31 million kilowatts of clean energy, which will be transmitted through this project to the load center in East China. The clean energy absorbtion will exceed 57 billion kilowatt-hours per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 44.62 million tons. It is reported that the Zhejiang Ultra-High Voltage AC Ring Network Project will be completed in 2029. Once completed, it will be connected to the existing power grid in Zhejiang, forming a closed loop within the province and four DC lines outside the province, enhancing the power supply capacity in Zhejiang.
