National Energy Administration: In the first quarter, the combined electricity exchange and charging services industry, Internet data services industry increased the total electricity consumption of the whole society by 0.8 percentage points.

On April 27, the National Energy Administration introduced that in the first quarter of this year, the total electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 5.2% year-on-year. Among them, the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry grew rapidly, and the electricity consumption of high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries maintained rapid growth. The electricity consumption of charging and swapping services and artificial intelligence industries also showed strong growth. In terms of regions, Tibet, Hainan, and five other provinces had higher electricity consumption growth rates. China's crude oil production continues to reach new highs, and natural gas production has also been increasing. The country ensures stable and orderly oil and gas supply through various means, effectively ensuring the stable operation of the economy and meeting the needs of people's livelihoods. Xing Yiteng, deputy director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that China's artificial intelligence industry continues to grow at a high speed. From January to March, the electricity consumption of internet data services industry reached 22.9 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 44.0%, an increase of 9.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year, continuously releasing new momentum for the digital economy. The charging and swapping services industry, together with the internet data services industry, increased the total electricity consumption of the whole society by 0.8 percentage points.
